Much of the organic waste (ie food) to throw the kitchen can be put into your compost bin, and turned into a soil improver.
Ideally, your compost bin should be placed in a sunny position, and the warmth of the sun will help break down your compost faster -. Though, if it is not possible, the compost bin can be placed anywhere
Your compost needs good ventilation to work well, so make sure you layer your organic waste. Try to put different types of organic matter in your compost so that the 5cm layer of food waste, and then a layer of 5cm scrunched up newspaper. This will allow air circulation between the compost.
If you have any vegetarian feed, bedding of these go very well in the composter. I must point out that your bedding shall be of not eating meat animals, otherwise your compost bin will smell really bad.
composter is hotter, the faster the compost will be produced. black plastic compost bins that you can buy are ideal as they really warm in the sun. During the hot summer months you can compost in a few months. bacteria making your compost will really slow down during the winter months, so you will probably have to wait until spring to use compost.
After more than a composter's best, and when a bin is full, you can let the bacteria and worms to work on it, and you start the next bin.
These are good materials to make compost:
Contrary to popular belief, you should not get any unpleasant odors from composting. If you do not start to smell, try different ingredients that you add. Too much solid waste (such as kitchen wastes) will cause the compost to be produced more slowly, causing the smell.
